Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home

I have found the one, my estate

A place I call my Home Sweet Home

It is you, my love, beyond the gate

Your love is the shelter within which I roam

I was a homeless wanderer carrying a burden

The ice on my skin battling with a ripped shawl

Fractured dreams made the hope uncertain

Until I came across the window to your soul

The sight was magical, I was welcomed

Captivated by a vision real, not illusory

Offered a cup of warmth to ease the feelings numbed

With a place to plant and flourish what I used to bury

A cushion for my weary head and to absorb my worries spilt

Located in your heart ready, inflated and plumped

Your arms so mighty yet gently cover as a quilt

How I’m glad I was not gazumped!

For to stay in this sanctuary for a time eternal

Where the foundations are sturdy and secure

Nourished by your continuous flow of loving thermal

Forever will always be a pleasure behind our door

Renovations are never needed for who could rival our colours?

The shades that before this union never were

Unlocked when you chose my key over the others

Now we have a rainbow that will never blur

And in spite of the mansions and palaces that dazzle for the elite

The ones with the sparkling taps of chrome

They do not hold a candle to a home this sweet

The one that will forever be my Home Sweet Home
