special poem for my special buddy!
"OUR
JONNY BENJAMIN"
On this day, my gift to
you is the colour red from a heart so vibrant
Undermining the loud scarlet
shades that suddenly became silent
Right after, I capture
from a lighted candle, such flaming orange splashes
Jubilantly created from
something more powerful than matches
On a warm sunny day, I
handpick yellow rays to add
Now in the mix, this gift
is looking rather glad
Next I seek my favourite
green, selected from a choice of several
Yet for you, I found it from the precious jewel called Emerald
Blue comes a-calling flowing
from a life-giving river that quenches
Each drop stimulates so
splendidly the once sombre senses
Not to be forgotten, the
violet one comes in bold and vivacious
Juicy from the sweetest berries
plucked from nurtured places
And all these colours
were garnered from special encounters
Magical meetings recorded
within a heart that bounces
It is this that is my
gift; It is my world, renewed, a heart-warming asset
Now that it is painted lovingly
from your precious rainbow palette
Pssst…here comes the corny
bit!...
